The NY Health Act is a bill introduced annually in the NY State legislature that would establish the first ever single-payer healthcare system for NY residents and workers. Rich has participated in all manner of advocacy for the bill including lobby days in Albany, phone banking, public education, NYHA bike rides, marches, and laying down in the street in protest. The bill's passage would for the first time ensure equal access to healthcare for all New Yorkers regardless of wealth, gender, sex, job status, immigration status, race, or class.
